Motorcycle Parts
A motorcycle may not be as bulky as other fuel-run vehicles, but that doesn't mean it doesn't need the proper parts in the right places for it to run effectively. Motorcycles, like all other vehicles, have various parts that make up its body. There are basic parts, but a lot of newer motorcycle models sport additions such as sidecars and trunks. Some of the main motorcycle parts are:
Frame - made of steel or aluminum, the frame is basically the body of the motorcycle
Tires - of course, what the motorcycle runs on
Seat where the motorcycle riders sets on, commonly made of padded leather; some motorcycles seat only two, but other larger ones may seat up to 3
or 4
Engine - what powers the motorcycle up; consists of cylinders hooked up to a transmission
Brakes - what stops the motorcycle; also used to control speed
Windscreen - usually made of plastic, windscreens are built into the front of a motorcycle to protect riders against wind flow
Fuel tank - where the gas that runs a motorcycle is put in; includes a tank cap so the gas doesn't spill out
Kickstand - small lever found at the bottom of a motorcycle that holds it up when parked
